Happy Dancin’ In The Face of Satan

Woohoo! I’m kicking up my heels with joy. Doing my little happy dance. Fist pumping high. All in the face of Satan.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” James 2:2,3

Oh, life has had some joyous moments lately. I’ve lost 6.4 pounds in a week. My daughter tried out for the position of Costume Designer for the High School musical and was selected. And my son’s first year tuition was cut by $20,000, leaving us with a relatively small monthly payment to get him through the year! (all due to aid because of our past couple of financially stressed years.) We are starting up a new curriculum and class rotation at our new church and people seem to be excited about it. We have finally gotten rain…and lots of it. (I LOVE rain.)

But, it seems Satan has taken to making all our cars and appliances go haywire. Seriously, we’ve had something wrong with our cars for the last month, one right after the other. We get one fixed and another breaks down. Our washer went out yesterday too. Luckily, someone at our new church knows someone who takes older models and put new parts on them and fixes them up. We bought one for $60 today! Much cheaper than a service call and all the parts and labor it would have required.

So I say, phooey on you, ye ole devil. I’m dancing in your face! You cannot bring me down. You cannot steal my joy. You are nothing.

Just call me twinkle toes!

p.s. I finally found the perfect layout for my blog. I love it. It is cute. It is clean. And it fits me, I think. This one is sticking around. Sorry to be changing up my blog so much. This one shall stay.

  2. Doesn't it just make you happy to know that Satan is NOT happy! You must be doing some wonderful things in the name of God for him to be hitting so hard. Keep on dancin'…

The new layout is very nice.

  3. Sherrinda I really like the look of your blog this time. I mean REALLY like it. and I love the title, 'Making a dream become a reality.' Here's to dreams that can be come realities. I will be kicking up my heels big time when yours come true 🙂

  4. What a wonderful post. It just shows there is balance in everything. With the wonderful, I think there is always some not so wonderful, but it is how we face the not so wonderful that makes the difference. Love how you faced the not so wonderful. Congrats to your daughter. I love the theater and have costumed and done makeup. What show is she designing for?

  7. Janna, thanks for the encouragment!I like to think that Satan doesn't have control enough to get me down.

Lily, I suppose it is a GREAT thing to make satan mad, though I wish he'd let up for awhile!

Tabitha, I fell in love with this layout! It is just perfect, I think! As for positive thoughts, all we can do is hang on for the ride and dance a jig along the way!

Amy, I love the idea of balance. I am usually not so good at balance. I'm an all or nothing kind of gal, but I dream of having balance in my life. My daughter is doing Hello, Dolly and she is thrilled! It is going to be fun. What all did you do? Act? Design?

Stephanie, why does it have to pour, when it rains down hardship. A sprinkle every now and then would be sufficient!

Jessica, I guess your hubby is doing the dishes in your absence? Wow! Maybe you will have a brand new dishwasher when you get home!!! 🙂 (double snort!)

  10. I like the new look. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I thought I'd post the answer to your question here–I know it can be tough to get back to a specific blog post after leaving a comment. I was able to submit the first 10 pages plus a synopsis for my critique. For SCBWI this is normal, but other conferences may offer something different. If you take advantage of a critique (which can cost money), the conference planners will usually provide you with format specifications and submission guidelines.

Hi Sherrinda! I love you new look. I have followed you for a few weeks and can safely agree that this is a keeper.

I am so glad that Satan is mad. It's high time he start being dealt with like the loser that he is. If he were going to win he would have won at Calvary!

I am praying for you as you seek God in this writing journey, it makes all the difference to be in the safety of His will. Keep praying and I will too!

    Blessings to you…
