Blessed by Dr. Reba of My Book Therapy

As a member of My Book Therapy, I have the opportunity to sit in on weekly webinars given by various Coaches on the MBT staff. Last night Life Coach Dr. Reba J. Hoffman spoke and her topic was Dare to Dream. She had stories and tips to move us forward to living our dream.

I was blessed by Reba’s words.

She had asked us to type in our struggles in living our dream (the webinars are interactive) and several shared. Reba’s encouraging and motivating words were like life to me. You know, many times you read advice over and over and it doesn’t sink in; but when it is personalized and directed right at you, it is as if your very pores are open to absorb the essences of the advice given. You are receptive. You care, because the person talking to you cares. It makes a difference.

And you know what? She gave us her email so that when we face down times or discouragement along the way, we can write her and receive encouragement for the writing journey. How awesome is that?!?

You can check out Reba at her awesome blog or at MyBookTherapy.

Who has spoken words of life to you recently?

  1. Great job on the WLU! I haven't been able to sit in on chats at MBT in awhile, but when I do, I glean so much!

I actually got a very helpful knock in the head from Katie Ganshert at Writer's Alley today! 🙂

  2. A small weight loss or maintaining is still better than gaining. Oh look! I wrote a poem!

  3. I have the privilege of having Reba as a prayer partner, so I totally know how you feel, Sherrinda. The woman is so full of wisdom. And I could sit and listen to her all day long. I told her she needs to go on the road like Joyce Meyer or Women of Faith.

Congrats on the weight loss. Every pound is a success!

  9. Thanks for sharing, Sherrinda. I'm looking forward to catching up. For the past 6 weeks, I've had Bible Study on Thursday nights so I've had to miss the sessions. I'm not looking forward to this Bible Study ending, but I am looking forward to being available on Thursday evenings.

  11. I'm a few days late commenting here, Sherrinda, but I can't agree with you more about the wonderful-ness of Reba Hoffman. Reba has been such a blessing in my life ever since I met her a few years ago. At a recent retreat, Reba gave a morning devotional that ROCKED and so I'm convinced she needs to on a national stage talking to women. 🙂 Love that woman!

  12. Melissa, I definitely need to got to a MBT retreat sometime! I'm going to my first ACFW conference this year, and can't swing the money for both ACFW and MBT. Maybe next year!

  13. I haven't been able to tune in on Thursday nights and I feel like I'm missing out. I don't even know if I could find a quiet corner of the house to listen, even if I wanted to! I need to pencil it into my calendar and make it happen.

I love reading blogs and interacting with other authors online – they have all been breathing life into my hopes and dreams. I am planning on going to an MBT retreat in October and I can't wait!!

  14. Oooo, I am jealous! I want to go to a MBT retreat, but I am saving up for ACFW this year. It's in my “backyard” and this is the year for me to go!

  15. The MBT Retreat is in my “backyard” – about a hundred miles southeast of where I live! I can't wait to go. Have fun at ACFW – I would love to attend, but we won't be able to swing it this year – maybe next?!?!
