First Line Fridays –

First Line FridaysHere’s another First Line Fridays hosted by Hoarding Books!  It’s a fun way to share good books and spread the love of words on the page.

I love medieval books and Tamara Leigh is fantastic at writing them. I haven’t read her Age of Faith series and decided to begin. I am loving The Unveiling! Wow! You should definitely read her books because they are filled with action, adventure, and sigh-worthy romance.

About the book:

The Unveiling_Tamara Leigh12th century England: Two men vie for the throne: King Stephen the usurper and young Duke Henry the rightful heir. Amid civil and private wars, alliances are forged, loyalties are betrayed, families are divided, and marriages are made.

For four years, Lady Annyn Bretanne has trained at arms with one end in mind—to avenge her brother’s murder as God has not deemed it worthy to do. Disguised as a squire, she sets off to exact revenge on a man known only by his surname, Wulfrith. But when she holds his fate in her hands, her will wavers and her heart whispers that her enemy may not be an enemy after all.

Baron Wulfrith, renowned trainer of knights, allows no women within his walls for the distraction they breed. What he never expects is that the impetuous young man sent to train under him is a woman who seeks his death—nor that her unveiling will test his faith and distract the warrior from his purpose.

A nightmare seized him from sleep, turned around his throat, and filled his mouth so full he could not cry out.

  1. Have a good weekend! My first line is from “Somewhere Beyond the Blue: Fun sixty-something romances” – the first one is “A TIME TO PUSH DAISIES” by Marion Ueckermann:

“Caleb Blume shuffled outside onto the wooden deck of his posh Camps Bay apartment, feeling three decades older than his sixty-two years.”

  2. Happy Friday!
Today on my blog I am sharing the first line from Sandra Byrd’s novel Lady of a Thousand Treasures. I’m LOVING this book. Currently, I am on chapter 10, so I will share the first line from that chapter.

“I had no faith at all in the doctor who had been tending my uncle.”

Hope you have a great day and a wonderful weekend! 🙂❤️📚

  3. Happy Friday! On my blog this week I shared Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst but I’m also currently reading Emerald Illusion by Jennifer Rodewald. I’m on chapter 12 so I’ll share the first line from there: “Clouds began to cloak the few stars that were determined to see light into the dreary hill country.” Hope you have a great weekend with plenty of reading!

  4. You convinced me. I’ll be reading this one soon. 🙂 On my blog, I am featuring a book by Deeanne Gist, Fair Play. Here I will share from the book I’m currently reading, The Prisoner’s Wife by Susan Page Davis. I am sharing the first line from Chapter 12 since that’s where I’m at right now. “‘Why doesn’t he waken?’ Lucy asked her mother the next day.” I wish you a wonderful weekend with lots of reading time.
