After making a reading journal last month, I thought I’d try my hand at creating a prayer journal. Now there are tons of prayer journals out there and they are brilliant in all they have to offer, but I tend to get bogged down by all the lists and extra stuff required to fill out the pages, so I made my prayer journal simple.

Super simple.
Maybe too simple for some, but it’s perfect for me. It’s easy to fill out and doesn’t take me an hour to complete.
First I found a pretty background that complemented the reading journal.

Then I created the interior pages. Just one page, repeated for each day. Like I said … super simple.

What I like about this journal is that it helps guide my prayers without complicating them. There is space to write:
- Date and scripture notation
- What I’m grateful for at that moment
- People I am praying for
- Things that are on my heart that day (what is troubling me; what I’m excited about; what I’m scared about; what I need to do but don’t want to … and the list goes on)
- What I feel like God is saying to me (While I’d love to hear God’s audible voice, I am not one of those fortunate ones. I am, however, nudged by the whispering of His Spirit within me. Not every day, but some, and I want to be reminded to listen each and every day to what He is saying to me.)
There you have it – my simple prayer journal. If you think this might help you in your prayer life, you can find this journal HERE. It’s $6.95 on Amazon.
You do not need a fancy journal. You can just use a spiral notebook or a composition notebook to record your prayers. They are cheap and you can let your heart go as you write to God. However you pray, I hope you stay close to God and grow to love Him more each day.
God bless!
